Great British Campout for the NHS Charities Together
Ian Alcorn setup a Great British Campout for the NHS during COVID
Hats off to Ian (and you Great Britain for taking part), who came up with the idea for anybody with a tent, caravan or camper van to campout in their garden and donate £2 to their Just Giving Page which would then be shared with NHS Charities Together.
Thousands camped out on 4th April 2020, with many then joining in over the easter weekend. At last count they had raised over £100K.
Thinking of camping out? Donate here.

Rainbows for Nightingale to show We Care NHS!
A lovely project that has popped up across the country, asking children (or big children) to paint, draw or sketch a rainbow for Nightingale in London and share on Social Media with the hashtag #RainbowsForNightingale – thousands of pictures have been created across the UK already and many more I'm sure will be created over the Easter break.
NHS Nightingale has asked kindly for NO pictures to be posted to them – just shared on Social Media and perhaps placed in your front window so your neighbours can view your artwork!
PositivePost from BookBlock. Free postcards to help the NHS
A postcard sent to a loved one that helps aid NHS workers.
A great project from BookBlock called #PositivePost where you can order a beautiful postcard to send to a loved one in this time of self-isolation.
You just pay the postage and they are asking for donations to the NHS Charities Together to help fund NHS workers that need it the most.
They had a target of £5K, but are already well over that. Many custom postcards to choose from that are all themed around self-isolation and reaching out to those you love!

Harvest For Heroes, delivering free fruit & veg to the NHS Frontline
A fantastic project, delivering fresh fruit and veg to NHS workers on the frontline.
Harvest for Heroes, a project from a team in London who have responded to NHS staff who are saying they are struggling to find fresh food at the end of their long and demanding shifts in the supermarkets.
They have teamed up with UK-wide fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs and milk suppliers committed to their cause and will be delivering boxes of fresh food to NHS staff up and down the UK.
They are asking for donations to Harvest for Heroes, in order to help keep doctors and nurses healthy and well.
£12 donates a box of fruit, veg, eggs, milk and pasta to one NHS worker.
Help Them Help Us – Doctors coming together to help fund small and big ideas to support NHS staff
Small Grants to help support NHS staff during COVID-19
Help Them Help Us is a project started by doctors in the NHS trying to support the wellbeing of NHS workers during the crisis.
One of the main aims is to help offer small grants to key workers, to help pay for childcare, transport or the day-to-day.
An extraordinary effort, from a group of people who are extremely busy themselves!

Free Vegetable Boxes for NHS workers
Many NHS staff will be in great need of healthy fruit and vegetables when they get home, there are already some great projects such as Mealsforthenhs and Uber Eats offering free delivered meals to NHS workers, but an idea in a community is to come together to fund a vegetable box to leave on a nurses or doctors doorstep?
One idea from @_bajo was to chipin to collet veg from their local farm shop.
Idea from @_bajo
.
“Can neighbours on a street, chip in a small amount each through @paypaluk, to buy a veg box for a nurse or doctor that lives nearby for delivery? Hey @vegetable_matters – is this something we can do for any keyworkers locally? @gloshealthnhs

Organising the sending of flowers to NHS Staff?
Can communities organise a whip round for flowers, and leave on NHS workers doorsteps?
“Can neighbours on a street, chip in a small amount each to buy some flowers for a nurse or doctor that lives nearby for delivery? Might be best to arrange flowers already in a vase so they don’t have a task when they get home after a long shift! Is this possible @freddiesflowers?”
